Itihaas Anusandhan Shiksha Mancha (IASM) is a dynamic, non-political and non-profit educational organisation, registered in 2018 under the Society Registration Act. Since its inception, IASM has been engaged in the field of research, academic activities, development of historical knowledge and social awareness. This organisation has been created by a group of passionate individuals who believe that History is not only an academic subject but a scientific tool to understand society, culture, civilisation, transformation and human development.

History Enthusiasts, Scholars, Research Workers, Teachers and Students are the main pillars of this organisation. They collectively guide and shape every academic activity, project and event undertaken by IASM. With the support of various schools, teachers and local communities, IASM has continuously been expanding its field of work across different parts of West Bengal.

Our Motto & Core Objectives

1) Promoting History among the Students
IASM works to inspire students to study History with interest, curiosity and passion. We aim to make historical learning more interactive, research oriented and meaningful, so that students can connect the past with the present and become more knowledgeable and socially responsible citizens.

2) Research & Documentation of Local History and Language
India is a land of rich diversity, local culture, folk tradition, heritage and unique historical background. Many important facts, events and stories remain undocumented. IASM aims to research, collect, preserve and record this untold and unpublished local history, folk culture, language heritage and tribal culture to protect it for future generations.

3) Creating Social Awareness
History is the mirror of society. Through various seminars, workshops, publications, exhibitions, lectures and community-level activities, IASM works to increase social understanding regarding human values, heritage preservation, cultural identity and the importance of education.

History Talent Search Examination

One of the major academic initiatives of IASM is the History Talent Search Examination. This Examination is conducted in different districts of West Bengal every year. Students from Class VI to Class XII participate in this competitive exam. The objective is to identify students who have deep interest in History, encourage their academic growth and guide them towards future academic research and higher studies in historical subjects. Through this examination, IASM provides a platform to young minds to explore History beyond textbooks and develop analytical thinking, logical understanding and comparative knowledge.
